Biographies


 

Nicole Kenny: Nicole is an honours graduate from the University of Guelph Biological Science program.  She also holds an Associate Chemist designation from the Association of Chartered Chemists of Ontario.    Nicole spent 8 years with Maxxam Analytics Inc one of the largest privately owned North American analytical laboratories.  In March of 2003 during the first wave of SARS, Nicole joined Virox Technologies Inc., a company with a patented technology in cleaning, disinfection and sterilization marketed through partners such as Diversey and STERIS Corporation.  As the Director of Professional & Technical Services, Nicole is responsible for Infection Control Education relating to chemical disinfection, Technical Support and Clinical Studies.  In this capacity, incorporating her educational background in Biomedical Science and Epidemiology, Nicole has authored several infection control related articles for Sanitation Canada, the Ontario Long Term Care Association, CM/Cleaning & Maintenance Management and Horse Sport and co-authored one peer reviewed article.   Nicole's passion for educating has lead her to develop an Infection Control Training program for the Environmental Services staff of a national contract cleaning company, training programs on Basic Microbiology, Infection Control and Occupational Health for several of Virox's strategic partners as well as educated hundreds of people across North America on chemical disinfection and the role the environment plays in infection transmission in many industries including Healthcare, Public Health, Animal Health, Dental, Laboratory, Pharmaceutical, Personal Services, Education and Food Processing.  Nicole was a member of the Education Subcommittee for Central South Regional Infection Control Network and was a member of the committee that developed the EcoLogo CCD-166 criteria for certification of Disinfectants and Disinfectants-Cleaners in Canada.


Lee Nesbitt: Lee is a graduate from the University of Western Ontario Bachelor of Medical Sciences program, a joint venture by UWO's faculty of Science and the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry designed for the advanced study of the Medical Sciences.  Lee specialized in microbiology, pharmacology and pathology while at Western and brought his wealth of knowledge on these subjects to Virox Technologies Inc. in the spring of 2007.  As the Manager of Professional and Technical Services, Lee shares responsibility for infection prevention and control education relating to chemical disinfection and technical support of Virox's Accelerated Hydrogen Peroxide (AHP) disinfectants.  Lee has authored several infection control related articles including those for Infection Control Today Magazine and CM/Cleaning & Maintenance Management.  Lee has also educated thousands of people across North America on chemical disinfection and the role the environment plays in infection transmission in many industries including Healthcare, Public Health, Animal Health, Dental, Laboratory, Pharmaceutical, Personal Services and Education.  He has worked particularly closely with dozens of acute care hospitals across Canada on the appropriate products and protocols for addressing Clostridium difficile contamination and outbreaks.  In 2008, Lee was also certified in Central Reprocessing Techniques through the Central Service Association of Ontario.
